NEWS 2023

The New England Weavers Seminar 2023 that was held this past July at Worcester State University and was a wonderful success!  Great classes, talented instructors, amazing shows and exhibits, delicious meals and delightful time spent with old and new friends.

Thank you to everyone that volunteered to help with NEWS, whether it was sitting a show, helping hang or take down the gallery show, being a class helper or guiding a “newbie” to the right building.  Volunteers are a vital part of putting on this great seminar.

The NEWS Special Exhibit this year was “Legacy of Weavers”.  Handweavers’ Guild of Connecticut chose to honored the memory of Mary Elva Erf.  The table was set with a biography on Mary Elve, handwoven items loaned to the guild by her daughter Kate and notebooks provided by the guild library.   It was a wonderful tribute to Mary Elva and her life’s work.

NEWS 2025 will be held at Worcester State University.  If you would like any further information, please contact Kathleen Kaliscak or Claudia Spaulding.
