Member Advantages: 

  • MAFA membership: MAFA (Midatlantic Fiber Association) is a group of volunteers dedicated to supporting Fiber Arts in the region.  Central to MAFA's objective is a Biennial Conference held in June.  The Handweavers' Guild of Connecticut is a member guild of MAFA. This membership allows HGC members to enjoy all the benefits of being a MAFA member, including access to classes, early registration and discounted fees to MAFA events.

 

  • Bimonthly subscription to our newsletter, The Knot

 

  • Free listing of equipment for sale on the guild's website.  Non-members can list equipment for sale for a cost of $30 for three months.  

 

 

  • Ratings Program providing recognition of Apprentice, Journeyman, and Master levels of weaving proficiency

 

 

  • Access to the annual November Weaver to Weaver Sale, March Equipment Sale and free advertisements in the Knot and on the website

 

  • Weftovers are donations of yarns, fiber, books or anything else connected with weaving. For some great bargains be sure to stop by Weftovers at every state meeting. All proceeds go to the scholarship fund.  Click here for information on determining unknown fiber content.  Note: The Guild is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and all donations are tax-deductible.

 

  • Participation in our inspirational Show and Tell segment of the State Meeting

 

  • Weaving Instruction: Weaving Instructors who are members of the guild may advertise as such on the Education page of the guild website.  Contact the website Administrator.
