MINI #2:
PUMPKINS OR OWLS. OH MY!
MARSHA LODGE
Which will you choose? Or make both! Add to your seasonal décor with an owl or pumpkin. You can make both projects from rectangular pieces of fabric. The owls are stuffed and have felt facial features and optional wings. The pumpkins are also stuffed and have embellished leaves and a real pumpkin stem. Both the owl and pumpkin can be hand sewn but bring a machine if you would like. Marsha will bring her Embellisher so you can make fancy leaves.
Material needed for the pumpkin is a sturdy piece of handwoven (not lace or too thick - 8/2 cotton is best) twice as wide as it is high. For example, 16” x 8”. The end of a towel warp would be great. Bring scissors, sewing needles and thread.
For the owl, any size fabric you have would work great, enough for the front and back, no need to cut them apart. Small pieces, 4” x 6” for the wings. Marsha will provide felt for the facial features. Bring scissors, needles, and thread.
Marsha will provide stuffing for both projects. You may have time to make both projects. If you don’t have suitable handwoven fabric, commercial cotton will work fine.
Materials fee: $2. Class size: 12.
