DESIGNING AND SEWING HANDWOVEN GARMENTS

When planning a new sewing/weaving project and you want to sew a garment, where do you start? Or you have material but how do you pick an appropriate pattern? What quantity yardage will you need? Your loom is not wide enough, now what? The class will talk about designing your project, pattern layout, calculating woven length and other issues when planning a sewing project. Emily will have samples and examples, but participants should bring pattern and fabric ideas. She can also touch on specific sewing techniques that are useful with handwoven fabric.
 
Participants should bring samples of material you want to sew with and/or patterns you’d like to make, a project planning sheet, paper, and pencil.
