Instructor: Julia Ludlow-Ortner
 
Hands-on workshop on the preparation and handling of multi-thread silk bundles. Students will also receive a handout of 4 and 8 element braids that can be made from this class.
 
Attendees should bring:
A Marudai, the round Japanese braiding stand, either10” or 12” diameter. Julia has several but not enough for an entire class of 10. Contact Julia to see if she can let you use one.
Tama (if not available, Julia has plenty to borrow). 
A bag that can be used as a counterweight. 
A chopstick. 
 
Material Fee: $20 for the handout and two ropes of silk. 
Julia will reach out to the students prior to the workshop in order to get their selection for two different colors of silk.
