Scholarships are available from The Handweavers' Guild of Connecticut for study in weaving related fiber arts. To qualify for a scholarship, one must have a desire to learn and a willingness to share this knowledge with the Guild. No special expertise in weaving is needed. Any person who has been a Guild member for at least one year may request an application. Applications are judged and scholarships are granted by a committee of three Guild members as organized by the Scholarship's Chair. Awards are granted throughout the year, with a deadline of May 15 for summer events such as NEWS and Convergence. Members may apply for scholarships every two years.

For more information, contact the Scholarship Chairperson.  To apply for a scholarship, one must complete the fillable Application Form available here and then forward it via email or mail (USPS) it to the Scholarship Chairperson.

Scholarships are also available through the Handweavers' Guild of America. HGA provides over $4,000 each year in scholarships for students enrolled in accredited academic programs. The application deadline is February 1. For more information about scholarships for you or for your students, visit HGA's website.
