Octado Loom

Leclerc Nilart Loom - I am the third owner of this older but wonderful loom. It is 45 inches wide and has 12 shafts. Also included are 6 reeds (18, 15, 12, 10, 8 and 5), an extra warp beam, a raddle, and a bench. I paid $1500.00 for it in 1998, the price is negotiable. Due to arthritis this is more loom than I can comfortably use. Contact Nancy Carter-Menendez for more information.

It's a Varpapuu, a Finnish loom, similar to a Glimakra, with a countermarche-shedding system.  It's 60" wide and it has 12 shafts and a bench, nine reeds (9, wow!) and some temples.  You can put a draw loom attachment on it if desired.  The price is $2200.00. The heddles are string, as are the cords.  New owner would probably want to replace with Texsolv. This one's a real beauty, European style, mortise & tenon construction, made of solid birch.  It's in good shape and the wood is reddish color, not dark like a barn frame loom, just darker than the Swedish looms. This loom is about 20 years old and has had 1 owner before me. Here is a diagram of this loom.
